Recycling!

Cooper came to me about two months ago and was so excited about an episode of Curious George that he had seen on t.v. He explained to me that he wanted to recycle and then went on to explain to me exactly what recycling was. You see, we live in Eastern Kentucky where it is sadly still common for people to just take a notion and throw their couch over the hill. I live in one of the nicest subdiviisions in my town and I kid you not, there is a recliner and chair thrown over the hill at the top of the hill in our subidivision along with a t.v. Our community is small and we have no public recycling pick up services like they do in bigger cities. We do have an aluminum can recycling center. So, I decided that we were going to go as green as we could and start recycling cans. Cooper is obsessed with the recycling symbol and I was so saddned when I had to tell him that the only thing we can recycle is cans. He just didn't understand why we couldn't sit our recycling things out with the trash and let the recycling people pick them up like they did on Curious George. In any event, he's doing what he can to save the earth and I'm so super proud of him. Blogger did not post my pics in the order I wanted it to, but that's not a big surprise now is it. Oh yeah, if Cooper looks a little wild eyed it's because he had been to the eye doctor and had his pupils dialted. Poor little guy.
This is my favorite part where he has to write his little name on the payment slip. He got a whopping .75 cents for his two bags of cans. He thought he was rich.
I make him do the entire process by himself.

I meant to tell you they have recycling bins for paper and cardboard at Walmart. They are at the end of the parking lot.
